The
path I've chosen in creating a saxophone mouthpiece
is the most difficult and complex imaginable. I
have extensively researched all the actual and potentially
possible methods of manufacture. But, in the end,
it was obvious that in order to achieve the finest
product achievable, it was necessary to spend arduous
hours engineering individually, each and every mouthpiece.
It is the only method that produces the result my
clients and I expect, perfection. While I believe
this has been achieved, I continue to aspire to
ever higher standards.
In recent times, players have had limited access
to high quality mouthpieces. The standard of many
years ago when mouthpieces were made by dedicated
artisans. Unfortunately, those days are past. However,
I believe I have been successful in resurrecting
and replicating many, if not all, the past methods.
In order to familiarize and share my procedures
with you, what follows is a visual presentation
in the creation of one of my precious mouthpieces. |
